Recertification Requirements

Holders of Active CICS or CICP Certificates

Holders of active CICS or CICP certificates may recertify by paying the recertification fee of $100 and completing and reporting at least 120 continuing education credit hours (CPEs), at least 40 per year, for each 3 year reporting period.  Click here to start the recertification process.

Expired Certificate Holders

Internal control professionals who have been previously certified as CICS or CICP certificate holders may recertify without examination if they meet the following requirements:

  • Complete and report 120 CPEs plus the following additional credits when expiration exceeds:                                                                                                                                                
    • One reporting period (within 3 years after expiration): satisfy an additional 80 hours. Total = 200 CPE’s plus regular re-certification fee of US $100. If this applies to you, click here to start the recertification process.                                                          
    • Two reporting periods (within 6 years after expiration): satisfy an additional 160 hours. Total = 280 CPE’s plus a re-certification fee of US $250. If this applies to you, click here to start the recertification process.                                                                                 
    • Three reporting periods (within 9 years after expiration): satisfy an additional 240 hours.  Total = 360 CPE’s plus a re-certification fee of US $250. If this applies to you, click here to start the recertification process.
